Wayne Jack Wallis, MD
Wayne Jack Wallis, M.D. is an authority in Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance. He has extensive clinical research, development, and biotechnology experience in safety aspects of product development and drug commercialization. He was previously Vice president and Head of Global Safety Surveillance at ZymoGenetics (2006-2008), Head of Global Safety at Amgen (2002-2006), Head of Drug Safety at Immunex Corporation (1999-2002). He is the founder of Dyad Life Science, an international organization providing consultative services, clinical analytics, competitive intelligence, and project support. Dr Wallis has extensive senior level experience in building and staffing high performance drug safety organizations, drug safety crisis management, compliance, benefit/risk management, FDA Advisory Committee presentations, interactions and negotiations with worldwide regulatory authorities, including EMEA, FDA, BfArM, and MHRA, life cycle management, and has contributed to numerous NDA, sNDA, BLA and sBLA approvals. His areas of expertise and interest include rheumatology, inflammation and autoimmunity, oncology, hematology and nephrology.
Dr. Wallis graduated from Huxley College with a degree in Life Science, received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, completed an Internal Medicine residency at University of California, San Diego, La Jolla; completed a fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Washington and continues to serve on the UW Clinical Faculty. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington, University Hospital, Harborview Medical Center (1991-present). He was Chief of the Rheumatology Division, GHC of Puget Sound, Seattle (1985-1995). He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, and a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Rheumatology. He has served as a reviewer for multiple journals including Arthritis and Rheumatism, Annals of Internal Medicine, Diabetes, and Drug Safety and Pharmacoepidemiology. He is also a member of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Society of Clinical Trials, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, and the Drug Information Association. He has authored or co-authored over 50 publications, and has received numerous honors and awards in research, teaching and medicine.
